Hi, My name is Kilessa — I'm a 14-year-old entrepreneur, future author, and l have started a business out of my room.

I was homeschooled my whole life, growing up on a small farm in rural Iowa surrounded by cows, goats, chickens… and a whole lot of imagination. While I love spending time outdoors fishing and hunting, I didn’t discover my love for books until I was 12—and when I did, everything changed.

Books quickly became more than just stories to me. They became adventures, comfort, and inspiration. Now, I’m even writing my own romantasy novel, turning my imagination into something real.

This business was born from that same love of storytelling.

“Blind Date with a Book” is all about bringing back the magic of surprise—the feeling of not knowing what story you’re about to fall into, and discovering something you might never have picked for yourself. Every book is carefully wrapped and thoughtfully put together to create a cozy, exciting experience from the moment it arrives.

But behind every package is more than just me.

My family is a huge part of this journey. From helping me pack orders to cheering me on every step of the way, I truly couldn’t do this without my parents and my four sisters. This business is built with love, hard work, and a whole lot of support.
